Getting started
Start your 14-day trial: try the full plan before you pay
Your 14-day trial starts during setup. When you pick a plan, FlockConnect starts the trial with no card, and your church gets full access to that plan's features for all 14 days. About three days before the end, account owners get a reminder email. To keep going, add a payment method on the billing page before the trial ends. If no card is on file when the 14 days are up, the subscription cancels with nothing charged. Here is each step, from picking a plan to the last day.
Where do I start a trial?
You start the trial during setup, on the plan step that comes right after you create your church. The account owner picks a plan there, and that choice starts the trial. No card is collected to begin it. Every plan comes in a monthly or annual cadence, and current prices live on the pricing page.
Creating your FlockConnect account never asks for a card, and signup on its own does not start a subscription: the 14 days begin when you pick a plan during setup. Only the account owner sees this step. If you are not sure which size fits, the active-adult billing guide covers who counts toward your plan and the band each plan covers.
- The trial starts during setup, on the plan step right after you create your church. Picking a plan starts it.
- No card is collected to start the trial. You add a payment method later, only if you decide to continue.
- Every trial runs 14 days with full access to the chosen plan's features.
- Account owners get a reminder email about three days before the trial ends, with a link to the billing page.
- To keep going, add a payment method on the billing page before the trial ends. You are not charged until the trial is over.
- No payment method on file at trial end means the subscription cancels, not charges, and the church goes read-only until a plan is started again.
- Adding a card, switching plans, and canceling all happen in the Stripe customer portal. Billing is owner-only and protected by multi-factor authentication.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The trial starts with no payment method, so you can set up your church and try the full plan without entering any card details. You add a card later, only when you decide to keep going.
When the trial is running, the billing page in your church settings shows your plan, its trial status, and the date the trial ends. Billing is for account owners only and requires multi-factor authentication, so this is a page only you can act on. Each church holds one subscription at a time, so you will not end up with two plans running at once.
What do we get while trialing?
Full access to the plan you picked, for the whole trial. A trialing subscription opens the same features as a paid one, so the 14 days show you exactly what you would be paying for. Which features those are depends on the plan, and the active-adult billing guide lists what each plan includes.
Whenever you are ready to continue past the trial, the billing page has an Add a payment method button. It opens the Stripe portal straight on the payment method screen, so you can add a card before the trial ends. You can do this any time during the 14 days; you are not charged until the trial is over.
When does the reminder email arrive?
About three days before the trial ends, every account owner gets a reminder email. The subject says how many days are left, and the email links straight to your billing page, so the end of the trial never sneaks up on you.
The reminder says what this guide says: add a payment method now and you will not be billed until the trial ends, and if no payment method is on file when the trial ends, the subscription is canceled. FlockConnect sends that reminder once per trial, not as a stream of repeats.
What happens when the trial ends?
With a payment method on file, your card is billed for the first time and your plan continues, renewing automatically until you cancel. With no payment method on file, the subscription cancels rather than charges, so letting a trial lapse never produces a surprise bill. After it cancels, your church goes read-only until you start a plan again, and your data stays put while you decide.
To pick a plan back up after a trial has ended, the billing page lets you start a plan again from the customer portal, where you add a payment method. Switching plans, updating your card, reviewing invoices, and canceling all happen in that Stripe-hosted portal, which the billing page links to. If anything about your trial looks off, contact support and we will help you sort it out.
